To move toward racial equity, organizational culture must change from traditional, often failed, diversity training, and take a holistic approach that prioritizes the human experience at all levels. People need the ability to work with the dignity of having their histories acknowledged and their life experience valued. Only then will companies be able to recruit and retain the thriving, diverse workforce that leaders and customers want – and need – in the next decade and beyond. This 3-part series is designed for the leaders of your organization and is broken up as follows:

Course Agenda

Upon completion of the 3 parts, participants will have learned:


  • Help the diverse culture of your workforce work as a team
  • Teach leadership to bridge cultural differences and bring employees together into a functioning team
  • Build awareness to understand what unconscious bias is and why it matters
  • Understand the impact of unconscious bias at work and the impact it has on your decision making
  • Promote acceptance and awareness in your organization to help create a multicultural environment
  • Learn how to have a respectful dialog with your employees
  • Build racial healing within your organization through recognition and affirmation of people and their experiences
  • Create a safe space to have a conversation and establish strategies that encourage everyone to participate – and be heard!

Materials 

  • Participant workbook 
  • Presenter slides and outlines 
  • Case Studies and Media as appropriate 
  • Role-play scenarios 
  • Post-training assessment 

Room Requirements 

  • Internet access for the presenter 
  • Screen 
  • Projector (if not ceiling mounted then a table or cart will need to be provided) • Training room must be able to comfortably accommodate the number of participants plus room to move around for various activities) 
  • Rounds or pods, a small table for presenter’s materials, chairs for all participants • One Flip chart and easel for each round table (for small group work) and markers

Additional Requirements 

  • Elevate will choose training facilitators whose background and expertise will support the subject matter and goals of the client 
  • Instructors will use a variety of instructional methods including lecture, group projects, discussion, and role play 
  • Participants are expected to be actively engaged in the learning process
